Big Sys' principal, Jenny MacKinnon, has been creating marketing and technical commnications materials for clients for more than ten years.

Starting as a proofreader and then a copywriter at a small ad agency, Jenny grew the business in the same direction as the information economy, helping customers such as Telstra and Wishlist create the first online stores, adjusting copy so it worked on the web. Those were the days of mass migration from paper-based commnications to email and web-based, and the companies that came to Big Sys needed a strong, flexible writer to convert their printed brochures to interesting, searchable text on the web.

As the internet grew, other technologies grew along with it and beside it. Big Sys became a resource for companies that needed to explain their new products and persuade the market to by them. Taken from acres of technical specifications, clients would receive a plain-English user guide or a sparkling piece of sales collateral from the Big Sys team.

Big Sys is now in a third phase - assisting start-up businesses with their business plans, information memoranda, propectuses or proposals. Big Sys spends a lot of time now creating the kinds of corporate documentation described elsewhere in this site, but with a twist - we can create a whole suite of communications.
